Sludge dewatering

Currently, different technologies are available for the dewatering of sludge from wastewater treatment plants. Among the best known and most used are band filters, press filters, centrifuges, and, more recently, dehydrating screws, which are becoming increasingly important due to their technological simplicity and flexibility of operation.

The screw dehydrator is an efficient wastewater treatment system capable of treating different types of sludge and industrial wastewater in a single operating unit. The interior of its structure is composed of fixed and movable cylindrical separator ring plates. The rotational movement with the variable pitch screw provides a continuous dehydration process and its design eliminates potential obstructions.

This system is being implemented more and more frequently by Bondalti Water, as it reaches the highest levels of dehydration with aerobically stabilized sludge, as well as with digested sludge and floating sludge. This method of dehydrating sewage sludge with dehydrating screws was exclusively designed to be a fully automated system, capable of starting, operating and stopping without operator intervention.
